Before and After Care Staff
Miss Jean, whose 3 daughters, Christina, Liz and Amanda are Preschool graduates, is a 30 year veteran of the Preschool. She has one grandson, Jacob, who she adores. She loves dogs (there are 4 in the family), walking, reading, youtube videos and food & wine. Originally from Long Island, NY, Miss Jean was once the director of her church folk group there. She enjoys time with her family and good friends and is very active, volunteering as often as she can. Miss Jean and her husband of 42 years, Mike enjoy beach vacations, their pets and music.
Miss Dawn's son, Garrett (29) and daughter, Amber (28) attended our Preschool, so although she is in her 11th year as a teacher, she has been part of our Preschool family for many years. She loves our Catholic faith, spending time with others, especially her family and friends. Miss Dawn loves teaching and mountain dew. A former gymnast, Miss Dawn was born in Michigan and grew up in Charleston.
Although this is her fourth year teaching, Miss Karen and her family have been part of the St. Catherine's Family since we were in the little white church on Cherokee Street. Miss Karen and her husband, Jeff have seven children, all Preschool graduates. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Miss Karen was a professional ballerina and has been teaching dance for over 30 years. She keeps busy with her family and their activities. They love traveling, hiking, camping and movie nights.
Miss Nelly begins her 4th year at the Preschool. Miss Nelly has 3 amazing children, Mattias (13), Martin (11) and Emma (6) who make her very proud. Martin and Emma are preschool graduates. She enjoys spending time with her family, travel, soccer, exercise and reading. Originally from Colombia, Miss Nelly moved to the US 24 years ago and Spanish is her first language.
Miss Linda began her time at the Preschool in 2000. Through the years, she has taken a few breaks for the birth of her youngest daughter, Caroline (a college freshamn) and then later to help after her daughter Coleen and her husband, Robbie blessed the family with their beautiful daughter, Avery, who attends the Preschool. Miss Linda also has a son, Connor. A native of Long Island, New York and a graduate of New York Institute of Technology, Miss Linda enjoys spending time with her family, trying new foods and new recipes, listening to music and puzzles.
Miss Sue begins her 16th year at St. Catherine's Preschool. She is the proud mom to 2 daughters, Angela and Christina, 2 son in laws, Tyler and Chad and 2 grandsons, Luca and Cameron. She loves spending time with her family, yoga, reading and St. Catherine's Preschool. She also loves the beach and collects beach sand.
Joining our Preschool Family in 2021, Miss Deborah loves teaching in the 3's. Married to her husband, Chad for 24 years, she is the proud mom of two daughters, Emily (20) and Olivia (16). Miss Deborah loves dogs, camping with her family, ice cream, the beach and baking. Miss Deborah also enjoys pickleball.
Mr. Anthony joined us last year in the Before and After Care Program. He loves his family, hoing for walks, soccer, bowling and teaching. Mr. Anthony has been bowling in leagues since he was 6 years old.
Beginning her 3rd year with the Before and After Care Program, Miss Bernadette loves God, her family and friends, the kids she teaches and sweet little treats. She has always loved to dance, dancing since she was 2 both in dance class and anywhere there is music. She loves teaching and has been doing so since she was 12. Miss Bernadette loves that she is able to share dance with children.
Miss Megan began at the Preschool last year. She and her husband have 4 children - Gabe (21), Evan (11), Aline (9) and Ruby (5) and a large extended family. Ruby is a preschooler at St. Catherine's. Originally from Westchester County, New York, they have lived in Dallas, Georgia for the last 11 years. They have recently moved to Acworth with their beloved husky, Bailey. She loves spending time with her kids, her best friend of 30+ years, music (loves concerts) and iced coffee.
