Before and After Care Staff
Joining our Preschool Family in 2021, Miss Deborah loves teaching in the 3's. Married to her husband, Chad for 25 years, she is the proud mom of two daughters, Emily (21) and Olivia (18). Her family has just moved to Acworth. Miss Deborah loves her 2 dogs - Lola and Sophie, glamping, time with her family, traveling, vacations and the beach!
Miss Jean, whose 3 daughters, Christina, Liz and Amanda are Preschool graduates, is a 31 year veteran of the Preschool. She has one grandson, Jacob, who she adores. She loves dogs (there are 4 in the family), walking, reading, youtube videos and food & wine. Originally from Long Island, NY, Miss Jean was once the director of her church folk group there. She enjoys time with her family and good friends and is very active, volunteering as often as she can. Miss Jean and her husband of 43 years, Mike enjoy beach vacations, their pets and music.
Miss Linda began her time at the Preschool in 2000. Through the years, she has taken a few breaks for the birth of her youngest daughter, Caroline (a college sophomore) and then later to help after her daughter Coleen and her husband, Robbie blessed the family with their beautiful daughter, Avery, who attended the Preschool. Miss Linda also has a son, Connor. A native of Long Island, New York and a graduate of New York Institute of Technology, Miss Linda enjoys spending time sleeping, eating, cooking and swimming.
Mr. Anthony joined us in 2024 in the Before and After Care Program. He has 2 brothers and enjoys walking, going to the gym, playing and watching sports. Mr. Anthony used to bowl competitively, has a turtle and can bench 220!
Although this is her fifith year teaching, Miss Karen and her family have been part of the St. Catherine's Family since we were in the little white church on Cherokee Street. Miss Karen and her husband, Jeff have seven children, all Preschool graduates - Daniel (27), Benjamin (25), Victoria (23), Bernadette (21), Anastasia (19), Seraphina (16) and Veronica (14). Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Miss Karen was a professional ballerina, touring overseas and has been teaching dance for over 30 years. She loves hiking, camping, Broadway shows, traveling, reading, movies, swimming, family games. Miss Karen and her family love to go on vacation at National Parks.
Our preschool welcomes Miss Viviane this year. Edson, her husband of 16 years and Miss Viviane have 2 duaghters, Sophia (11) and Lyvia (9). She enjoys interior and home design, DIY home projects and new skincare products. Miss Viviane loves spending time with her family (which includes a shitzu dog), traveling, watching movies and cheering for her girls as they play volleyball and soccer.
Miss Megan began at the Preschool in 2024. She and her husband, David, have 4 children - Gabriel (22), Evan (12), Aline (10) and Ruby (6) and a large extended family. Ruby is a graduate of the Preschool. Originally from Westchester County, New York, they have lived in Dallas, Georgia for the last 12 years. Miss Megan loves spending time with her family, working alongside her sister (Miss Nicole), going to concerts, roadtrips, decorating for Halloween and iced coffee. Miss Megan comes from a long line of educators and loves working with children.
Miss Karen, our Director, begins her 31st year at St. Catherine's Preschool. She began at the Preschool as the Movement teacher in her first 2 years at the Preschool. Miss Karen loves spending time with her family, traveling, going to the movies and shopping. Proud mom to Lyndsey (married to Preston) and Jeff (engaged to Brewer) and even prouder grandma to 2 beautiful granddaughters, Amelia (6) and Eden "Edie" (2). Miss Karen's childen attended Preschool at St. Catherine's. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she is one of five girls in her family. Her mom wanted to name her Gemma, but her dad said no. So now, her 2 granddaughters call her Gemma!
Beginning her 4th year with the Before and After Care Program, Miss Bernadette loves God, her family and friends, the kids she teaches and sweet little treats. She has always loved to dance, dancing since she was 2 both in dance class and anywhere there is music. She loves teaching and has been doing so since she was 12. Miss Bernadette loves that she is able to share dance with children.
Miss Sarah begins her 8th year at the Preschool loving her role as Preschool Administrator. She has been part of the St. Catherine's family for many years, including her time at "The Big School". Her daughter, Grace (16) is a graduate of the "Big School". She loves spending time with her family, her husband of 21 years, Jaime and their dogs. An enthusiastic participant in 5ks, 10ks and 1/2 marathons. A former tuba player, she also enjoys reading, sleeping, movies & Chick-fil-A.
Miss Dawn's grown children, Garrett and Amber attended our Preschool, so although she is in her 12th year as a teacher, she has been part of our Preschool family for many years. She loves our Catholic faith and especially enjoys mass and pryaing the Roasary. Miss Dawn likes to travel, spend time with her family, skating and watching tv shows. Miss Dawn was born in Michigan and grew up in Charleston.
Miss Nelly begins her 5th year at the Preschool. Miss Nelly and her husband Ricadro have 3 amazing children, Mattias (14), Martin (12) and Emma (7) who make her very proud. Martin and Emma are preschool graduates. Kids are Miss Nelly's favorite people. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travel (especially to the beach), exercise, running and reading. She loves photography and is a graphic designer. Originally from Colombia, Miss Nelly moved to the US 25 years ago and Spanish is her first language.
Miss Caroline has joined our preschool this year. She loves spending time with her husband of 27 years, Scott. Mom to 3 children, Miss Caroline is an awesome Nana to her 5 grandchildren (2 attend the Big School) - she always has McDonalds and Chick-fil-A money to treat them. She is energetic and likes to keep moving. Miss Caroline likes to bike, do puzzles, sew, knit and tell stories.
Miss Sue begins her 17th year at St. Catherine's Preschool. She is the proud mom to 2 daughters, Angela and Christina, 2 son in laws, Tyler and Chad and proud grandmother to 2 grandsons, Luca and Cameron. She loves spending time with her family, yoga, pilates, reading and games. MIss Sue loves to laugh and takes adult ballet classes at St. Catherine's. She also loves the beach and collects beach sand.
