MUSIC
Music is an enrichment class offered to each age group at an appropriate developmental level. This class is taught by a separate, qualified music teacher in our music classroom. In this fun filled class, the children work on thematic music, rhythm and timing activities, instrument exploration and music culture. By using rhythm sticks, tambourines, maracas, cymbals, bells and many more hands on instruments, the children discover the wonders of music. The children also prepare for two formal music performances a year.
MOVEMENT
Movement is an enrichment class offered to each group at an appropriate developmental level. This class is taught by a separate, qualified movement teacher in our movement room. In movement, the children work on their gross motor skills by using many fun manipulatives such as balls, hoops, balance beam, paddles, bean bags, stompers, target boards and much more. Through interactive play and apparatus use, the children learn and develop many important skills that enable them to strengthen other integral areas of learning and development.
ART
Generally taught in the classroom setting, children will engage in several different forms of art projects using different "media" (i.e. paints, markers, colored pencils, etc.)
There are two projects each week which revolve around the theme of the week. These are "child friendly" projects and our goal is that they are to be completed by the child with a minimum of adult intrusion.
