Catholic Schools Week began with the celebration of the holy Mass on January 31st. Parochial School and Preschool children were involved in many aspects of every Mass to show how proud they are to be Catholic.
The theme for this year is “Dividends for Life” – that is what a Catholic education gives our children. At St. Catherine’s Preschool our Catholic Schools Week was full of lots of fun and energy. All week, we hosted our annual Move-A-Thon where each child had the opportunity to go through an obstacle course that was designed by Ms. Debbie McCurdy our Movement teacher. Parent, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends all came to cheer our little guys on! What a blast. At each Move-A-Thon day, our guests were given a delicious breakfast and handmade gifts from the heart of our preschoolers. Our little angels decorated the doors of our clergy to show how much they appreciate all the clergy do for our parish. Our fabulous Catholic Schools Week committee, headed by Gretchen Ingram, gave the teachers of St. Catherine’s, a stupendous Mexican lunch that lasted for two days! Our fantastic Room Moms planned exceptional snacks for the children on their last day of preschool of this very special week. What a great week and what a wonderful way to say WE ARE PROUD TO BE CATHOLIC!!!
