Do i have to be a member of St. Catherine's parish to attend your preschool?
No, not at all. We welcome all to our curriculum of faith based Catholic education. You may be a registered parishioner at another local Catholic church or not registered anywhere, we don't care. Do I have to pay the tuition all at once?
Tuition is paid by most of our parents on a monthly basis after the initial deposit. What is your child to teacher ratio?
We have teachers and aides in every room and we fill our rooms with only 16 children so our ratio is 8:1 at maximum. Naturally not all classes have the full compliment of children. Do you generally follow the Cobb County School Calendar?
For the most part yes. Occasionally we have religious holidays that the public schools don't have, but for the most part we follow their calendar. We also follow their "lead" when it comes to closing schools for bad weather - something that we have all learned more about this year. At what age do the children in S.C.P. begin?
We service children age 16 months to 5 years of age. The children need to be the age of the class on or before September 1st of the year they are beginning school.
How many children are in each class?
- In our Wee 2's we have a maximum of 10 children
- In our 2's classes we have a maximum of 12 children
- In our 3's classes we have a maximum of 14 children
- In our K-4's and Early 5's classes we have a maximum of 16 children
All of our classrooms have 2 teachers
Is lunch provided by the preschool?
Each 1:00 p.m. class has a lunch period for the children but lunch is provided by Mom and Dad. The lunch period is during the course of their day in their classroom.
Is S.C.P. a secure environment?
Our entire preschool that is housed in Our Lady of Grace is in lock-down for the safety of the children and staff from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Can parents/grandparents/uncles/aunts etc... volunteer at S.C.P.?
YES - there are 14 volunteer groups that family and friends are encouraged to be involved in. We LOVE having family around and definitely need your help.
Do children of S.C.P. ever leave the St. Catherine's campus?
NO - we have 10 field trips a year BUT the children NEVER leave the campus. All of our field trips - fireman, policeman, Johnny Appleseed, Music is Magic etc... come to visit us.
Are your teachers background checked?
YES - all of our staff our background checked and are CPR/First Aid trained
